Pickens County Arrest

On 08/13/2023, deputies with the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office Uniform Patrol Division (Bravo Team) responded to “Inside Mini Storage” in Central for a burglary in progress.

The suspect, later identified as Melissa Ann Gilstrap, fled on foot before the deputies arrived. K9 Unit, Kona, was deployed and tracked Gilstrap to a Central home where she was hiding in the wood line.

Melissa Ann Gilstrap was arrested on the following charges:

• Burglary 2nd Degree.

• Possession of Burglary Tools.
