General Investigations

Eight Detectives staff the Investigations Unit. They are responsible for investigating major crimes within Pickens County, such as homicide, robbery, burglary, assault, missing persons, automobile theft, and crimes involving long-term commitments or special circumstances like forgery, fraud, identity theft, and embezzlement. These cases require extensive follow-up investigation and a good working relationship with local banks and other financial institutions. They are committed to achieving the most significant gains, preventing the greatest losses, and bringing offenders to justice by diligently seeking to discover the truth, undeterred by prejudice. This is achieved by compiling a comprehensive and factual case file for courtroom presentation. The Investigations Unit is also committed to increasing public awareness by educating the citizens of our community on methods to better protect themselves from being victimized by crime.
